Creating Your First Onboarding Flow

Welcome to 360Onboard! This guide will walk you through creating your first onboarding flow from start to finish.

What is an Onboarding Flow?

An onboarding flow is the survey or form that your clients will fill out. It's a series of steps designed to collect information, obtain signatures, and guide your clients through necessary setup processes.

Building Your First Flow

Step 1: Add Your First Step

When you start creating a flow, you'll need to add steps. Each flow can have multiple steps, and you have three types to choose from:

  • Questionnaire - Collect information from your clients
  • E-Signature Form - Get documents signed
  • Tutorial - Guide clients through connecting their accounts

Let's walk through adding each type:

Adding a Questionnaire Step

  • Click "Add Step"
  • Select "Questionnaire"
  • Choose to either:

Use a Template - Pre-built questionnaires for common needs (like brand voice, taglines, and content preferences)

  • Add Custom Fields - Create your own questions by adding field types

Pro Tip: Templates save you time by providing ready-made questions for common onboarding scenarios.

Adding an E-Signature Step

  • Click "Add Step"
  • Select "E-Signature Form"
  • Choose a template (such as an invoice) or create your own
  • Add signature fields and name fields where needed
  • Name your step (e.g., "Sign Invoice")

Your clients will be able to either draw their signature or type it when they reach this step.

Adding a Tutorial Step

  • Click "Add Step"
  • Select "Tutorial"
  • Choose from available templates that guide clients through:

Google Ads access

  • GoDaddy access
  • HubSpot access
  • Yelp access
  • Social media platform access
  • Other account connections

These pre-built tutorials save you from having to type out instructions manually and ensure your clients can easily grant you access to the accounts you need.

Naming Your Flow

At the top of your flow builder, you'll see "Untitled Flow." Click here to give your flow a meaningful name like "Flow One" or "Client Onboarding - Social Media Package."

What's Next?

Once you've added your steps, you'll want to:

  • Choose your variant and display mode (see "Choosing Between Step-by-Step and Slideshow Mode")
  • Customize the look and feel
  • Generate personalized client links (see "Generating Personalized Client Links")

Quick Example Flow

Here's a simple three-step flow you could create:

  • Step 1: Questionnaire asking about brand voice and content preferences
  • Step 2: E-signature form to sign the service agreement
  • Step 3: Tutorial guiding them to grant access to their Google Ads account

That's it! You've now learned how to create your first onboarding flow. The beauty of 360Onboard is that you can mix and match these step types to create the perfect onboarding experience for your clients.
